Spike my lion fish is losing his caudal fin(tail fin)
this is two days after i used flatworm eXit (tho it says it wont hurt fish) i spent roughly six hours siphoning flatworms out of my tank so their couldnt have been many toxic juices from the worms dieing.
in addition did about a 50% water change and am currently running carbon.
tank:10gal
zoa's
torch coral
2 hemits
10 Astraea snails.
1 Gorgonia
1 Green Birds Nest Coral also referred to as Seriatopora Bird's Nest

Will be posting water specs in about 30 min.

A whole 10 gallons for the lion? Really? Kinda like putting a betta in a shotglass....
Is there anything in the tank that could've gotten ahold of him?

I don't want to harp, but why is this fish in a 10 gal tank? That is really an impossible scenario. I actually think it is deteriorating fins due to environmental conditions.
How long have you had this fish? What is he eating?

Evenly?
I fully agree that a ten gallon is FAR too small for any lion, including fuzzy dwarfs, which are the smallest breed of lion, besides the Fu.

I think somethings nipping the fins too. In a tank that size its probably the bristle worms.

That is definitely a possibility. In a ten gallon the fins of this lion are always in reach. Maybe they are deteriorating because of the conditions and the worms are eating the dead parts off at night. Nice thought Delta!

hes in my 10gal. because he's so small right now. and because he's a VERY picky eater. still trying to wean him to marine foods.
I've had this fish for about 4 months. hes eating ghost shrimp coated in selcon. the fish is only about 1.5 inches i know they grow a lot bigger 10-15 inches.

1.5 inches? Seriously? That must be a MIGHTY young lion. Why is he not weened onto frozen yet? You could easily get him to eat krill or silversides. Wiggle it in front of him or put it into the current to make it look alive. What size tank is he going into? What all is in there? What are the water parameters in that tank?

Todays pics of Spikes progress after four days of dosing with Melafix and Pimafix (See attached images below)
Spike is doing better and my decision to risk dosing my DT paid off. my corals are fine just as listed as well as my snails and hermits.
I decided to dose my DT to minimized stress on spike from moving to a new QT tank that was only running for 24 hours.(This tank is still running in case of disaster#2 or a miss diagnose.)

yea he's VERY VERY Small, never seen one so small before but he's great. hes not weened onto frozen yet cause he will go for 2 weeks with out eating and i cant let him starve it kills me cause i know its really bad for him. it might have something to due with the fact that the frozen krill and silversides are far to big for him to eat.
what I've been doing is splitting them into small bits and wiggling them but he's just not interested.
does anyone know if i can buy live krill????? that would be perfect.
atm he's the only fish. in the tank. and will be the only fish in the tank until he's moved to my larger tank. The tank is my collector zoa' tank. its also got the list of other corals on top. of this post

It is looking tattered. The white could be mucus trying to protect the tail fin or it could be the beginning of a fungal infection. If it is an infection then he will need treatment. That cannot be done in your tank. Have you thought about future plans for this guy? That tank is not good for him, regardless of his size.
