i put both fish in my tank while still in plastic to get them to the right temp.
Then i put both fish in separate bowls with only my water. after 15 min i put the fish in my tank and everything seamed fine until now....

I took out the potter and put him in seperate bucket with some water.
He's just laying at the bottom. I flicked water at the top of the bucket and it appeared to wake him. he swam to the top for a moment and went back down.
Should i keep him in the bucket. I don't want him to die in the tank and infect the whole tank?

I've heard of fish doing this. He could probably be very stressed out, and you didn't acclimate them right. But I think he is just very stressed. You should have gave him a day in the tank...now he's even more stressed going from the store, your tank, bucket. I would put him back in the tank and give him a few days, because he will get so stressed he will die in the bucket.

Thank You For Your Help
I have place him back in the tank. There was zero movement and he essentially fell to the bottom with very little or no reaction. I built a barrier around him with the rock to keep the tang from bothering him. Hopefully he lasts the night.
If the potter does not survive the night, what is the best course of action to take if i wake to a dead fish.
Thanks

Thanks everyone for your help
This morning the little potter was not breathing.
Better measures will be taken in the future
