:help: My rastsas are looking like they are dying
1 is really drooping and the other is scrunched up. I have had them for a week. My lighting is 1- 130 Watt Compact flor. DAY. 1 -130 W actinic 260 watt total
I have a 55 gallon
FWLR
water : sal 1.024
ph 8.2
amm 0
nitrite 0
nitrate .25
I did have high ammonia .5 nitrite at .5 and nitrate at 5.0 yesterday, but I did a 25 per water change, changed filter, increases protein skimming etc. I think it was caused by overfeeding, someone dropped in way toooo much food, by the time i noticed it was too late alot of it dissolved on the floor. Also like 5 snails died i think they could not right themselves after they fell off rock that i moved.
Any suggestions are appreciated

what are your phosphates at? phosphates will kill leathers first IME. also that may not be enough lighting

Leathers IMO will look like that about a week after they have been out of the water, transferring tanks etc. I wouldn't worry for another week or so. You will probably have to blow him off in a few more days because he looks to me like he is going to shed. When he sheds there will be like a white slimy skin coming off of him.
I am not that expiranced, however I have 3 different leathers and they all did the exact same thing when I first put them into my tank.
Hope this helps...

leathers do shed and go thru these phases. its how they grow. see if they dont look brand new and larger in a few days. if they continue to droop and melt off the rock, its likely too late. Leathers should have some serious lighting IMO. i dont know that much about PCs so im not sure if thats adequate or not.

Mine are under 8x54 T5 HO and do great. I got them from a tank with MH thought so I don't know. But I have seen them under pc at LFS around here, but they generally don't keep them very long.

That coral looks fine to me, just a normal bothered or shedding phase as said already.....mine does that every week or two. Opens the next day.
