All of a sudden 4-5 of my red legs have died crawling out of their shells and croaking. I just got 10 new ones from this site but am not sure if it is the new ones or the ones i already had. Any ideas on why the sudden deaths? Water parameters...Ammonia 0- Nitrites 0- Nitrates 10 Calcium 350 Temp 79- PH 8.24 Salinity 1.024:help:

The first pic looks like a dead one, the other looks like molts.
They are probably the new ones. A sudden shock can cause them to molt, and sometimes they don't survive it.

Yea, the ones without the shell are just molts, the one with the shell could be a death. Or shock.
Lucky for me I've gone through that before. I had one hermit in my tank, and I thought it died, I took out the molt, but was too lazy to take out the shell. I was gonna boil it so I can kill all the bacteria. Thank goodness for laziness!
I ended up buying a second hermit when I found out the first one was still alive. Now they're both lounging around.
