WELCOME!
If you can find a pure white silica sand that will work fine. Don't use pool filter sand though, the grains are too sharp.
I might also be worth mail ordering aragonite sand.

I would like to welcome you to the board as well.

If you have been reading this board for a while then you should know its not beach sand that you want, in fact that could be polluted stuff.
Tropical Playsand is the choice in the Southdown, Yardright, or Old castle bags, these are aragonite sands and what is prefered. The bright white silica is also a better than nothing choice. If you don't get the white then it will truly look like mud at the bottom of your tank and it will not be very pleasing to the eye.
As stated there are online choices as well, this site also sells live sand and you can do a mix of live sand and dry white bagged sand as well.
