I just found a sea slug--snail --- creature!!! It has a oval shell cover in coraline alage. It has 2 tentcals....body same color as a snail about 3/4 inches long. It looks like it is munching on some alage spots on the LR. Do you think i should remove it? Do you think it is reef safe?? Is it toxic?

Sounds like you probably have an abalone sea snail - they are very beneficial - reef safe - and readily multiply in the home aquarium. I have some that are dull and drab and others that are a golden yellow. They do not bother any of my corals.

Depends on which ones you have - post a pic if you can - or give a better description - if it's green, for example, with the description given so far I would guess it to be a lettuce nudibranch - they are reef safe but generally pretty short lived.

nudibranch's do not have shells, and lettuce nudis are very distinguishable.
i agree with stomatella or abalone from the description.

Hitchhiking lettuce nudis are rare.... coral eating nudis are more often seen as hitchhikers.
they don't seem to bother the corals......I have seen them on the LR but also on the tank glass...not sure what that means

agree - if no pics are forthcoming then I would suggest that you research nudibranches as there are a few of them that are very bad for reefs, some that are just nuisances, and some that are beneficial. This is one critter you need to get a positive id on - there are lots of pics here on these boards as a place to start - run the search engine for nudibranch
