I have a sick porcupine puffer I need help with. He won't eat anymore. He just lays around the bottom or on a powerhead intake. He swims into rocks and glass like he can't see. I have treated him with maracyn two but it didn't help. Can he be saved or should I just let him go? I would be thankful for any advice.

How long have you had this fish?
What are the water levels in the tank, specifically pH,kH, ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, SG, and temp?
What are you feeding this fish?
What else is in the tank with him?

I've had him for about 16 months. pH kH all are pretty good. I was feeding him shrimp, crab, krill, octopus, soaked in Vita. I have 1 golby, 1 clown and 1 angle fish. I have him in a QT right now too.

If he's sick he could just be losing some color, get a pic as soon as you can and get it in the disease forum.

my porcupine puffer did not eat for almost 2 months and had lost the marbling in his eyes. I was at my wits end. I finally decided I would either cure him or watch him die. I decided to get some highpotency flake food, crush it up in a little water, got a cat catheter from my vet and a syringe. I would catch Marvin, my puffer, and insert the tube down his throat some and then have my husband push the mixture through the syringe. After about 2 weeks he was eating on his own again. I have had him about 16 months and he is about 8 inches long now and doing fine.
