Help! Skimmer Overflowing

why would a protein skimmer pump so many bubbles that it eventually starts to drain a sump and pump out water. I've never had any problems with it since i got it almost a year ago and after having it off for a couple weeks it went crazy.

what kinda skimmer is it? either the gate or return from skimmer is closed. or if you have some airline tubing that could be closed too...

The only name I can find on it is Sealife Systems. I can't find it anywhere on the net. It doesn't have a gate valve the only thing i can adjust is the air intake. I came home from work one night and it pumped about 15 gallons of water onto my kitchen floor.

Some additives like Stress Coat will make a skimmer do that.
