Help Stocking a 75G

Well I am still working out the bugs of my new tank but would like to dream about what fish I would like to put in but could use some help. There are few fish that I have to have in my take as per my wife and myself for starters:
1 Percula Clown
1 Black and White Clown
1 4wd Goby (Gotta have one because i love Jeeps)
Now the rest I cant really decide on. I would like to mix up the colors from here on out and would really like to have atleast on nice show fish in a sense. I really like the foxface but dont know if it would be ok in a 75g. I know I cant have any tangs even though I love the Yellow Tangs. What are some other nice fish to have? What about angels and butterflys? Give me some ideas.

Well yeah those are just some of the small must have's. I really dont know what I can and cant keep. I dont want to overcrowd or put to big of a fish in my tank but I would like alot of motion going on in it so I was thinking a bunch of small fish and maybe one or two larger attention getters.

I would NIX the percula and go with a B&W and and orange & white ocellaris. The goby is fine. Your tank is too small for a tang, but not a lemon peel angel (look on this site for a pic) they need a semi-mature aquarium, but are a bold yellow and a very nice fish. You would need to have at least 50+lbs of rock matured over 6 months, but they are an awsome fish. Foxfaces get large (9+ inches) and need at least 90-120 gallons (90 is kind of cramped but do-able) Butterflies don't realy work well in a 75. There are plenty more fish to pick from though!!!!

dwarf angels and butterflies will work, tho success w/ butterflies will depend upon species. for a beginning species i would go w/ a raccoon, longnose, and or a declivis. i am pretty sure a foxface will work, but i am not quite sure. u could have another black perc, be pretty cool.

Wait....A TANG FLAMMER....AGAIN?!?!? Why won't you people shut up about there tank size! There are tangs out there perfect for 75-gallons too ya know.
Just if you can't keep a Regal Tang doesn't mean automaticly ur not aloud to have tangs.Yellow,Kole,Purple,and I THINK Lavender could work well in a 75-gallon..So shame on you

Wait Threadfin Butterflies and Bannerfish are the hardiest of the group
and Racoon in making 3rd place.

The foxface will grow too large. Butterflies are good, but are more delicate than dwarf angels and should be after about 8-12 months after the tank is set up with rock.

Every website I see has a mininum of 50-gallons for a Yellow Tang.Just don't go for the Xtra-Large Hawaiian Species! And alot of Butterflies can be hardy like the colorful Threadfin :thinking: as for Foxface it will work out.But if you decide to get one of those cute Yellow Tangs,they can be alittle aggresive.
I really doubt the Tang business cause I would have been an idiot to live in Washington State

Realy? Come over to disease and treatment and do a search on tangs. You will see how many members of this board we have helped simply because their tangs were in too small of tanks. They get stressed out and become ill. Check it out for yourself. It is actual members of this forum. I am not here to tell people they can't do this or that. I am here to share experience and help others.

I like the Foxface and the Yellow tangs but I know not to get fish with similar colors and shapes. So any inputs on a good show fish that will stand out from the crowd? I am also planning on doing some colars but not a whole bunch.

I really doubt the Tang business cause I would have been an idiot to live in Washington State

Call yourself as you see it. You should also know that tank requirements on sites refer to as they are shipped (meaning juveniles).

I think an anthia or wrasse might work nicely for your centerpiece. Amazing colors on these guys and they are usually pretty peaceful. Might want to add them early so they can get comfortable before the new guys show up. Also, something I plan on doing in my 75 is get 3 firefish. I think a small school of these guys or even blue-green chromises would be a nice centerpiece. JMO

i was right about something.... i feel so special...TAKE that AW2x3! i did do research! whats an anthenia? a wrasse depending on the species may work, so long as it is one of the smaller reef safe species as opposed to the large bold wrasses like lunare wrasses, blueheads, and dragons. i also like ur idea of a schooling fish, maybe a septeplet (did i say that right?) of banggais or smaller according to public opinion

its k, ive done that a couple times b4. a single anthia or a trio (one male and two female) would be fine, but no more than that

Don't feel bad, my keyboard is on the fritz. I type correctly, but some letters don't come up!!! I have to double check everything. I still miss stuff sometimes :joy:
