Not sure what happned it started with my sps's geting rapid tissue necros and now my fish are dying, they start breathing fast then die. i have tested the nitrates, nitrites, amonia, ph, calcium and my LFS tested for some othersbut not sure what they were, they told me all the levels are fine. I am to the point of guessing a parasite of sort..........can anyone help with a posible solution?

There really is no parasite that would attack corals and them move onto fish.
What are the parameters?
What have you changed recently?

all the parameters are in normal limits as stated on the test bottles.
I just did a big water change and even let the tank sit at a lower salinity for several hours " like a freshwater bath" the fish are breathing rapidly and their eyes are geting clowdy hermits are even dying i just added carbon last night to remove any posible contaminents.

How low was the lower salinity? Your inverts and corals won't do well with a rapid reduction in specific gravity at all. What you did would do nothing for parasites, but would really harm your non fish. As lion_crazz said, there isn't a parasite that would effect both inverts and fish. My guess would be a contaminate of some sort. Think back, what have you added, changed, sprayed in the room, etc. ? There has to be something that happened.

i agree parasites harm either fish or inverts not both. contaminants possible like perfume, or the last bug xterminater. xterminater will tell you he has the good stuff when he really doesnt know.

the lower salinity was only for a short time...........all i can figure is that some toxin got in the tank either by dying sps or by a toxin on my hand. any thanks for the replys but i had to start over with a complete water change lost all but one fish and lost all corals but zoos and a few mushrooms

How did you get the salinity back up? How long did you mix your salt? Rapid changes in salinity can cause serious problems, as can using salt water that has not been well mixed for a few days.
What was your pH during all this?
