phosban reactor for some denitrifier
Could you please explain to me exactly what this is? I found one for 40 dollars? It looks like its a cylinder with two outlets, does this allow you to just put a certain type of media inside of it and it trickles the water slowly through it?
Thanks alot.
I have been researching and sitting on these forums for 3 or so hours now.. oh well I love the hobby and hopefully I will get the Nitrates resolved one of these days. I just cant stop laughing that I am having all this trouble and the only Livestock is a big Puffer!

I have the money to add one, but I would like to avoid doing so. My wet/dry is rather large, the area where no media is present has Some green plants, live rock rubble, and a few inverts (snails, starfish). I also keep a low powered light turned on over it 24 hours a day. So its kind of a fuge and wetdry at the same time. Still no luck with my nitrates though..

Well I am really tired now and I have class early tomorrow morning. This is what im going to do, Not buy anything.
No larger pump for the display tank and no Denitrifier (im not spending 450 dollars) on something especially when my only Live Stock is a Puffer Fish.
I will continue to post on this thread and I thank everyone for the input and suggestions, keep it coming!
I am going to begin doing a water change every other day. Any suggestions for how much to take out since its a 125? Its been setup since August. I am also going to add Chemi-Pure media to my wet/dry and maybe some bags of carbon on top of that, I am going to try to beef up my wet/dry with some carbon media is this a good idea? I currently have no carbon media. I had a carbon pad, It didnt actually come in a bag and I didnt have to rinse it before placing it in my wet/dry.
How much of a factor could having no carbon play in my High Nitrates? (100+ppm)?
Thanks everyone.

How much and often do you feed your fish?
Every other day. I feed him 10 or so silversides, I make sure he eats every one not letting any get uneaten.
He is a large fish and produces a lot of waste.
