I first noticed these disgusting red spikes protruding from the anus of 5 of my guppies. I have separated them from the main tank and have been treating them for a week with piperazine. I have also been plucking these things out, but I don't think that the meds are doing much good. I was told to use 250mg per 10 gal. I followed this dosage for a few days without much effect so I have been increasing the dosage. I don't think the fish will stand much more of this....they have stopped feeding.
Is there a better way to treat this? How can I prevent this from happening again <img src="graemlins//eek.gif" border="0" alt="[eek]" />
