help! trying to install berlin skimmer

any help would greatly be appreciated. I am installing my berlin hang on skimmer with a mag drive 7 pump. the problem is that the foam and water do not come up into the top canister no matter how I adjust the air screw. is there something I could have done wrong?

I have a berlin skimmer in my sump and I had the same problem. It takes it awhile to start getting the foam you want. Dont open it up to much though I made that mistake and got to much water(not good). Leave it running and keep an eye on it, as it starts to break in you will get the gunk. Mine is giving me coffe colored gunk almost every day but when I look at it in the morning before I leave the foam is not at the top, so you should be alright, just remember to keep an eye on it.

as long as your air is turned up and the water is circulating and there is air cycloning thru the center tube, you should be allright. How long has the tank been setup, there may not be anything to skim out of the water, or you may need to give the skimmer a little while to go thru the break-in period.
