Help w/ testing Ammonia

setup is 1 day old. Ph 8-8.1 Alk: 5meq/L Nitrite: 10mg/L Nitrate: 2mg/L
Using Seachem Marine Basic test kit.
My ammonia is all messed up, my Free Ammonia is 0 but my total ammonia is off the chart. It turns purple when the highest total ammonia on the test reads blue being 3mg/L.
Should I do a water change and see if I can get the total ammonia on the chart?
Just live rock in tank. SG is 1.024
Can I completely kill and ruin all 150lb of live rock I bought if the NH3/4 levels are to high?

live rock will not die so dont worry..
If your setup is new you may have to wait a few weeks and see what happens. dont add anything with copper matter the fact dont add any chemicals just let the tank cycle and if you still have ammonia problem it could be the substrate your using or a buffering problem?not sure try to read up on it.i'm new to this but i never had ammonia problems?make sure you have powerheads and other wave makers to keep the water from getting stagnet :notsure:

Dont do any water changes. Looks to me like your cycle is started. Test every other day so you can monitor the cycle. Good luck.
