My LFS just tested my water, they said everything looks great. Is this true? I've all of a sudden started to have a problem with green hair algae. How can I get rid of this. Here are my water readings:
Ammonia: 0
Nitrite: 0
PH: 7.9
Salinity 1.23(when I read this with my refractometer it's 1.25)
Phosphate: .25
KH: 8.0
Calcium: 430
Magnesium 1290

did they not test for nitrates? and it would be better for phosphates to be 0
what are you feeding? What are you using for water (ex.tap or ro)?

Sorry, Nitrates was also zero. I feed every other day, i alternate between pellets and mysis. I only use ro water bought from my lfs.

I would limit the pellets to 1x a week...if that.....what is your lighting schedule oh...what type of lights?

You need to try to get the phosphates down to zero. Maybe try running some GFO or other phosphate removing media. Maybe check the phosphates on your newly mixed saltwater to make sure that you are not getting phosphates from your source water or your salt. Hair algae can be a pain, but it is beatable. Good luck.
