Doesnt sound like a prob, if its hair algea i dont think it would develop that quick, i would guess is it something that came off the 2 pieces of LR you put in

What color are the things? Are they motile (squiggling around)?
Are they attached to the glass?
Did you actually mean you just put two corals in your tank? Is your tank cycled? How long has the tank been set up?

do you think the filter will take care of it, anything I should do, do you have a pic of that kind of algae by chance for comparison?

Hi yes, tank is fully cycled....as of a few days ago....just put 2 small frags of xenia in....and the only thing else are some cleaner crew... These things look like clear hair about 1/4 inch long or so maybe to 1/2 inch. Nitrites are at 10...did first water change yesterday. They do seem to be going away as the lights are back on ....just seemed very strange. Also very upset because the skimmer we bought...remoraC pro they promised would fit on back of tank with my canopy does not fit, comes up too high. Don't know what to do...sending it back and have to find something...what do others do when they need to hang on with canopys!! so frustrated!

The xenia are more than likely going to die in a tank less than 6 months old. I would try to take them back if I were you. I'm just trying to help :)
