Well when it first looked a little fuzzy I though new growth???? But now I think it has some kind of cooties...I have never had a sponge do this... so any advice? Should I report a problem to SWF and submit the picture? It never hit the air in my care, could it have been exposed to air to make it look like that, the bag had no air in it either?
I get my seahorses Monday and I don't want or need any cooties, If it's normal don't laugh at me..I never had a tree sponge before.

What is worst I can't seem to be able to report it...It was an add on item and it doesn't appear on my list of critters to report. I tried reporting it anyway and an error message pops up and says I need to select an item....So I posted the situation in Ask SWF...I hope it's good enough to get something done

I would cut off the dead tissue and hope the living could stabilize but that's just me. I like to hack things up.

I looked at it real hard and thought about it...but the very base is turning and stuff is on every area, just some are worse than others, nothing can be saved. Do you think it has been exposed to air somehow?...Not by me, I made sure I opened the bag under water and released it.
