HELP ...WHITE STARS ON GLASS HELP

I JUST WALKED BY MY TANK AND I HAVE THESE LITTLE (VERY LITTLE) WHITE DOTS ON THE GLASS.
They have little stems off of them. i dont know what this is. what should i do? what is going on with my tank. does any body know what i am talking about. they cover the entire lower half of my aquarium wall.

sounds like foriminiferan(sp?), here is a link with some info and a pic,

they are about 3/4 the way down the page
if it is them, they are a good sign, and some fish love em for food

THATNKS.I TOOK A REALLY GOOD LOOK AND NO THAT NOT IT. THERE ARE SEPARATED. VERY VERY TINY. LIKE THE SIZE OF HALF A PIECE OF RICE. IF THAT. ITS A CLUSTER OF THEM.

I know exactly what you're talking about...I had the same things when my tank was in its first few days of cycling... I assumed they were just an algae, so I cleaned 'em off with the scraper and pulled a couple out with a syringe, popped them under the microscope...they were algae definitely, but very strange looking... I couldnt find any info either, but they havent come back or been a problem in any way since...
