HELP Wierd White Stringy Strands

About 2 weeks ago I purchased a rock with some really awsome looking shrooms on it. Tonight I noticed that eminating from one point on the rock are numerous strands about the width of a human hair-maybee a bit more and they are white. I would say they are about2-3 inches long and maybee 20 in number. I have never seen anything like this, its not any type of aptasia I have ever seen, what is it? SHould I be concerned? If so how do I kill it? Unfortunately because all my money goes to my tank I dont have a digital camera, im sure that make this easier, thanks

Yep, I inherited the same thing on a rock with my zoo's. Mine has about 5 very long, thin, white legs that come out. Only at night though when the lights turn off. It looks like there are brown stripes on a few too. They are about 5-6 inches long.

That made me laugh...when I first saw mine it scared the Holy Moly outta me........wanted to throw the whole tank out of the window! So, of course, I came here to ask what it was......spaghetti worm......( still have NOT eaten spaghetti) since. It is always out now daytime, night time.....Now be prepared for the bristle worms! One of mu=ine is out most of the time, especially when I am adding brine with garlic.....I swear that bristle comes out when I drop it in the tank....!!!!

Spionidae worms fit the bill as well, but there would two milky white tenticles on each one, and a sand/mucus/debri tube......the tenticles look kind of like speghetti worms, but much shorter. Very common as well.

I was wondering what that was in my tank. I have only one hair though but it is white and about 4in long. It moves through the current but irregularly like it's fighting it.

I have a remedy for the bristle worms, it involves my garbage disposal of a sally crab and his cute little claws. Why he likes them over the other worms, I have no idea but thats why I loves him
