This morning i did an ammonia test on my 35g tank and it was a .25. I have noticed that one of my shrimps and hermits are missing, probaly dead in that case. What should i do???Will it pass because the tank has cycle 6 months ago or do i need to do water change to fix it. I cant find the shrimp or hermits on the bed or floating around the tank????

If your tank cycled 6 months ago you need to find out why you have ammonia. After the cycle there really shouldn't be any signs of ammonia or nitrite. Have you added anything to you tank recently. As far as the ammonia in your tank at this point, I would do a water change and keep checking your parameters.

6 x hermits
2 x glass shrimps
1 x coral banded shrimp
other occupants 2 x mato clowns and 1 x anemone.
Do you get ammonia if something dies in your tank after it has cycled???

i am worried that my tank didnt cycle properly 6 monts ago. when i put lr and livestock in about a month ago i got a ammonia spike. i was told it was probably the lr that did it and changing my bed to sand all in one hit. i di d a few water changes and then all my tests were zero. about 5weeks have passed and now the ammonia as spike again to .25.is this what happens when a tank has not cycled. should i re cycle or do water changes????

Small water changes will help get rid of the ammonia. I am sure you cycled the tank. You probably just introduced uncured live rock that had die off on it. There still may be some dieoff on it. You will get rid of that with small weekly water changes.
