is there anyway to actually eliminate aptasias from your tank or is it only possible to control them. I've doused all the big ones that were in there with joe's juice but everytime i turn around, another little ..cker sprouts up. anything i can do?

If you dont have aggressive fish, get a few Peppermint shrimp. They will take care of the little ones that pop up...maybe.
I just got 8 for $25 last night at a LFS...a friend and I split them. $3 a piece!!! normally, they are like $8.

That is a GREAT deal on Peppermints. I think I payed the $8 that you mentioned at my LFS. I had a group of aptasia, and added these lil buggers. The next morning I woke up....no more aptasia. One thing to consider is that peppermints might go after polyps, zoos, etc....so be careful

Yep, definitely get the peppermint shrimp. They are awesome. My tank was starting to get over run by that stuff, so I got 3 of the Peps. A couple days later I had no more Aiptasa.

My peps wouldn't eat the big ones I had in the tank. I had to take care of those myself, but they certainly eat the little ones and keep them from spreading.
