IL want to order an eyelash blenny but can't find any information on it. Everytime I do a search, I keep getting refrences to the lmb. Are these 2 similar or the same fish? A picture of the fish can be found at reef topia.
Thanks,
Dorothy

Actually, the lawnmower blenny, Salarias fasciatus, is found in the Indo-Pacific, Red Sea and East Africa to Samoa, north to the Ryukyu Islands, south to the Great Barrier Reef and New Caledonia. There aren't any species in the genus Salarias found in Florida or Caribbean waters.
Reeftopia fish are from the Caribbean. Their blenny is probably Parablennius marmoreus, a.k.a. Seaweed Blenny. They do like to eat a lot of algae but will adapt to other foods. There are also a lot of blennies found in Florida in the genus Hypleurochilus so it could be one of those too.
Here's the fishbase link:

1911 Guy, that's it. Mine is only about 1.5" and is darker. Now some of his stripes are beginning to come in and the color is changing to look more like your blenny. I will see if I can get a picture later. He usually comes out and sit on the vegi clip after I put nori in the tank.

Mrs. Dothory, I don't know what to tell you about your blenny but I noticed that you are in Byhalia and I am in Memphis so I wondered if you would email me sometime so we can get togeather on our tanks. I think I saw that you have a 29 gallon and that is what i have also .I have soft corals and an LTA and 2 clows and a midas bleeny as well as the regular clean up crew. If nothing else I would like to know where you get your supplies and what you think of the local fish stores. my email address is wyancey2@midsouth.rr.com . My husband is from Byhalia and his mom still lives in Victoria. Sorry about the off topic post but I wanted to try and reach you
