Have you checked your water readings? How long have you had the clown? Are the raised areas the same color as his body or are they white or red? How is he eating?

well i just did a water change and the reading are good, i bought 2 clowns thru this site and have had them about a week now. one clown is fine, the B&W one is was eating but maybe ate one brine shrimp today. the clowns eye is cloudy and looks more swollen now. the raised areas are the same color as the body (black). they are not white or red. they look like patches in the area between the gills and side fins.

White, stringy feces is often an indication of an internal bacterial infection. The other symptoms you list would warrant the clown being placed in a quarantine tank and treated with antibiotics. The twitching may or may not be a problem, as oftentimes, paired clowns will exhibit this as part of dominance behavior. The cloudy eye, raised areas and stringy feces, however are problems that should be addressed.
Do you have a quarantine tank?

Maracyn Two is about the easiest to use. It is well absorbed by fish. I use it at double the dose for 5-7 days.
