For some reason, I didn't take a pic of the front room at the angle I needed. I think I was more interested in the wall the tank would go in. So I took different pics from the video and made this.....

This is the video.

Some other pics.....

Then you go past the stairs and into the kitchen/family room area.
The white entertainment center is coming out.....

yeah, we gotta warm that up. I am surprised that whomever stained the stairs (love hardwood) they stained so dark in comparison to the hand rail to the stairs or is it just the way they showed up in the pics?

Suggestions for replacing the easter colours on the wall.
I actually think I have an idea. When we redo the kitchen I want it to look like this.....
K, I actually think I have the colours I want..... and this is actually how we'll redo the kitchen.

Do I do accent walls somewhere of a slightly darker colour? Do I separate the rooms with slightly different colour?

It's totally a different stain.... and there's a crazy half rail on the wall that looks like one of those geriatric bathtub safety rail. I was thinking of some nice black wrought iron.
Here's the Geritric Handle....

Our walls are victorian white which is really a very light tan. I want a little darker when I repaint - our tile is a little darker.
Love the new house

Nobody touches my cameras but me....LOL.
I don't think we are going with curtains... I've seen some really nice plantation shutters.
I'm Canadian... it's colours when it's coming out of my
mouth.
My inwall tank isn't going to be my dream tank after all. The support beams runs smack dab down where the center of the tank would be. I wasn't nervous about cutting into the loadbearing wall... but slicing into the actual beam! Eck! But that's not actually the main problem. If it was just an loadbearing wall, I'd get someone in to do with. But it's also a firewall and no one licensed will do it for me because it would be breaking code. Cutting into the main beam is not something I want someone non-licenced to do.

funny, I was thinking how nice the wrought iron stairs would be . But I didn't know how much you were wanting to change things. Every little thing is so expensive. Your kitchen and hearth room (or whatever they call it there) I would keep with the same shade, but maybe a smidge darker in fireplace area. Something similar to the pic you showed with your choice of wrought iron. The plantation shuttesr are awesome. I wish we could have them here, but our windows aren't suited for them and I didn't care for the "box" that would have to be built to accomodate them.

I like natural colors myself, shade of tans and browns. I find a nice big blank wall, and I add texture to just that one side.
I start with a dark color then add a little lighter color with a bunched up rag and last I add a splotch of gold, just a tiny bit here and there throughout. Let each layer dry before adding the next, don’t overwork it just dab. You can also use a sponge.
I no longer own that house so I have no picture to show you. Most of the wall will be the lighter color in the end result. If you want it darker, start with the lighter color.
I think a textured wall only looks good in a large room, in a small area it closes in too much. I always use one shade or the other to finish off the other rooms, especially when the rooms are open and one leads to the other. It seems to draw everything together nicely.
It’s a lovely house, I like what you plan to do with the stair rails…but dusting would be a nightmare.
Get rid of those curtains for sure.
