Help with damaged frogspan

My friend gave me his frogspan yesterday because his lighting wasn't enough to support it. Some if the coral is gone, and now I'm wondering if it's too late to save it. My lighting is a little stronger than his and I put it on top near the lights as possible. Do they like high currents or low currents? What else should I do?

Most frogspawns like high light and medium current. Introduce it into your lights slowly. Bring it from the bottom to the top over several days or even weeks. A sudden change can cause damage to the coral.

hey i'm sorry to say but there is a 20 percent chance you can save it now. Mine turned all black inside. These corals once they are damage or are not rairing well they are lost but if you they do really well they keep growing and growing.

has it ever been fed? You might ask you bud. If not you might try feeding it with some phytoplankton. Most corals will survive off the products of their zooxanthellae, but supplemental feedings never hurt (i guess thats why im overweight ;) ) Corals from this genus such as the frogspawn, hammer, anchor and torch corals do well if they are healthy and not damaged. If damaged and their skeleton is showing they are very succeptible to borign green algae, which bores itself intothe skeleton, and destroys the coral. At this stage in thegame there is nothign you can do for the coral.
good luck
