Help with green algae

I'm starting to get a lot of this stuff and its growing long. My tank is 7 months old now. I use RO/DI water and have never had a problem with ammonia, or nitrates. Not sure whats causing this stuff to grow but if someone can tell me how to get rid of it and what causes it, it would be much appreciated. Thank you.

Check for Phosphate. It's hair algae and lives off Phos and Nitrate. Assuming the algae is growing in areas with good flow(I have some that does anyway) you may want to adjust your lighting schedule and/or replace the bulbs.

I actually buy the water at the store. It comes out of a culigans machine. They have the dates on the machine that says when the cartridges are changed and they change them regularly. Maybe the water is just RO and DI?
