Funny you should ask this. My GSP just opened up today after a 3-day "nap" ! The wife thought I had killed them!
I think they will be fine. Mine look brighter than ever!

This is apparently a common occurance. Mine have done it a few times, and there have been several posts about it in the past. Most seem to come back after a few days.

I've seen my emerald right smack in the middle of the GSP before and knocked him off with a stick! I don't think he was eating them, but wasn't going to take any chances. I think he may have been cleaning out the crap that was in between the polyps.
The hermits have been on there also, but I haven't seen any damage or loss of polyps.

Sometimes it is hard to truly know what the thread is about from just reading the subject title. Upon further reading the thread, if it is something that I'm not familiar with or unsure of, I would rather not reply than to give inaccurate information. This is just my opinion but I'm sure alot of members can relate. I always make an effort to answer or respond to any thread that I have an answer for or can relate to.

I have a small colony of green star polyps...and a small patch of them in the middle havent opened in a few days. I have been worrying about them, but the others look healthy, so hoping they are just 'napping'.

Good for you, Harlequinnut! If only others felt the same! :D
I would keep an eye on the gsp. I had healthy colonies growing here and there and then they started to die off! I have only 2 very small patches now. I have yet to figure out what the problem is.
