After using a ro unit with a bad filter, for way to long,
my aquarium was filled with algea of all types. I started toteing in bought ro water testing before adding and things are getting better, but I still have lots of hair algea, it is covered with bubbles which i hear is a good thing and looks like it is starting to turn brown, and I dont see anything new. I am waiting for a shipment of additional cleanup crew some new hermits a sea slug and a kole tang. I am just wondering if anyone knows how long this whole process will take, and if anyone has any other ideas?
Any help is appreciated

Its going yo take a few weeks before you start to see noticable change. Make sure your water parameters are near perfect, make sure your water flow is high enough.

Have have been fighting with hair algea for 6 months. Finally won with two large sea hairs they cleaned my tank spotless in two weeks. Have boosted my coraline and still winning. Sea hairs reef tanks best friend.

Sea Hare (Aplysia dactylomela) One of the easiest sea slugs too keep if you can keep it alive for the first 3 days. They only eat algae. They grow very quick if you have a lot of algae. Once the algae is gone though find someone else with an algae problem quick because they will starve too death within a cople of days. you will see them shrink day too day.(very sad).. They have never bothered any of my corals or clams.
