help with lion

Yeah i have noticed he is hiding on the dark side of the tank. I have one 400 watt halide just off center and it mimics natural shadows of the ocean. The lion loves that side of the tank. Also he is an eating machine.

What I did with my lion is forcefully push the thawed silversidees down with a skewer, not attached to the skewer at all, and the lion watches, and then lunges at the "live" fish. He is now eating 3 or 4 silversides a day...(yes he has me spoiled). I figure if he is out and following me, he is hungry. When he is sated he will go backk to his darker hiding place, and then come out later in the evening. After him living on live goldfish his life, I am quite pleased with the progress I have made with him. There are even days when he comes out to feed 2 or 3 times, but I have never seen his tummy bulge from overfeeding, so I hope I am ok with this. Just my 2cents......................

Thanks for your help everyone, He is definatly interested in the forzen thawed food being offered just not quite ready yet, so we will do another guppy feeding tonight.
Also the trigger and the damsel are not even close to harrasing him, all behaving perfect.
However when i tossed a few guppies into the tank the trigger and damsel were machines chasing and eating.
Just for the records books that is a russels lionfish - not a volitan. Still gets big but won't grow quite as large as the volitans.

try live feeder fish/shrimp to entice feeding. ghost shrimp is the best way to do it, thats how i got mine to eat. try and get them off of live foods as soon as possible and move them to a variety diet of frozen foods.
