help with setup of berlin turbo skimmer

Hey guys
I got a berlin turbo skimmer off of ----, and I am a little unsure about setup. It came with a berlin turbo pump. So it has what I think is 1 intake at the bottom, which I was thinking was what I hooked to the pump. Then at the top I believe is two outputs. I think I got the airline connected right. Does this all sound right? And if the top two are outputs, should I connect a hose to them, or get two L shaped pipes to just let the water flow through and into my sump? Thanks for the help

You'll want a short piece of tubing for the pump to the single input of the skimmer. Then I would suggest 2 - 90 degree pvc elbows to the outlets with some pipe leading down to the sump. This will help keep the noise down, so you do not hear the waterfall. I would not use tubing on the outputs as this might cause some restriction of the water.

There is one other piece that I am unsure of. I have a plasitc cylinder about 6 or 7 inches tall, with a center divider in either the bottom or the top. Where does that piece go? I would think that it goes down the main shaft of the skimmer, but I am unsure.
thanks for any help

Thats the most inner tube in the chamber. Install it with the divider at the bottom, then the bigger cylinder slides over it. HTH

hey thanks for the help
just one more question I hope! It appears that there are two airline intakes, one I have running off of the pump that it came w/and that is working fine. Do I need to hook up another pump and an airline to this air valve too? or what is that for
thanks sean

Are you refering to the two barbed type fittings at the top of the body, above the outlets? If so, I believe those are for overflow purposes only, not airlines. There should be a hole next to the barbed fitting on the left that goes through the entire top black body with the outlets. Just run the airline from the pump intake and up through this hole.
FYI, my skimmer came with an adjustable valve for the end of the airline for finer adjustments. IMHO, its not needed. I leave mine wide open (no valve) and just make adjustments on the turbo pumps intake. I get a nice thick green sludge in the collection cup running it this way. HTH
