help with skimmer

I have a berlin air lift 60 with a tetra whisper 10-30 gal air pump for my 29 gal tank. there is no foam goin into the collection cup. it only foams up to about 1/4 inch past water level. Do i need to push more air? Are the bubbles to small? Big?

How many days has it been running?
I dont like berlin, they arent very good.

dont have it but opening up the air valve should create more turbulance and in turn create more bubbles just keep experimenting with it as it gets better make smaller adjustments until you get the right consistancy of foam in the cup

its been running for a few weeks now. How much foam should there be? i have the valve fully open, maybe i need a bigger pump...

if it came with a pump it should be enough to produce some skimate in the cup so dont rush out to buy a new one yet, i would close it off completely than open it until you get a strong response in the amount of bubbles than slowly adjust it every few hours until you get some stuff into the cup, this will give you a start point that you may need to adjust it occasionally from that point to variations in your tank to keep it producing skimate

hmmm...why didn't i try this in the first place. I connected the hose to the skimmer directly to the air pump and it's actually flowing water into now. so i need to get a new gang valve that has better air flow adjustments. thanks
