Help with some red algea (not cyano)?

Hey guys!
I've been having a slowly increasing problem with algea in my tank. I don't know what kind it is so I don't know what can be done about it. So I guess I'll just describe it:
Redish/brownish turfish, very coarse, can't be blown off or even scrubbed off- it is stuck on the rocks very well, and it's about 1/2 long on average.
Could someone tell me what this is and how to get rid of it before it gets out of control?

maybe it could be coraline algae. coraline comes in many different colors

Sounds like red turf algae. I had some show-up but quickly dissappeared, not really sure what got it though, sorry.
