If a sponge is exposed to air, is there anything I can do to give it a better chance of survival, or am I just waiting for it to die? Here's the story...I picked up an orange tree sponge at a LFS that i'd never been to before (nor ever will again). I never trust any advice from any lfs that i don't research myself, but i guess i was wrong to assume that they could atleast get the thing into a bag correctly, even after i told her (the owner btw) that the sponge can not touch the air. anyways...i should've payed closer attention to her...but instead of putting the sponge in the bag in the tank...she used a specimen container and poured it into the bag outside of the tank..sponge got stuck in specimen conatiner and was exposed to air for maybe a second. the sponge still has it's entire foot attached to rock, and looks healthy to begin with. is there anything i can do to remedy this mistake...or is it a goner for sure? thanks in advance
