I'm going to be getting about 40 lbs of lr from a friend. I went and looked at it last night and it has a bunch of green hair algae all over it. I don't want to add it to my tank and have it spread. I don't care to have it in my tank right away because I already have enough. I'm just taking it off their hands since it's free. Should I just leave it out of my tank and let everything die off then add it when it all dies or when I upgrade? Should I scrub it off or something?
Also a few of their rocks have some type of clear/white tube growing on them. I don't have any pictures right now. The tube is attached to rock at the base and is soft. it flows with the water. I checked the hitch hiker thread and couldn't find anything. Any ideas? Thanks for any help
