Help with Xenia

I just bought a nice piece of LR from my fav LFS and it had two small frags of xenia on it. They dont look the best, but they look alive. The problem is, on the way home, one o them broke off and was floating in the bag when i got home. What can i do for it? Will it re-attach itself to something or is it a lost cause? It was a freebie, so i'd like for it to survive since this is my first corral.
Thanks

go to your local hardware store and buy a tube of super glue "gel" and attatch it to a rock where you would like it to be. our Xenia seems to like have way up the tank and in a low current. we have pulsing . our tank is 55 gal and we have 260 w of pc

Mine is actually in a 2.5 minibow nano tank. The lighting is just a 50/50. I cant remember the wattage, but the guy at the LFS told me that if i ever decided to get begginner corrals that this light would be enough for a tank so small. Its the flouresent screw in type that replaces the incadesent one.

It probably is a screw in power compact and it might be just enough for the xenia.
You can try and glue it or it will eventually settle on a rock or gravel and start to grow...just like it does in the ocean when it gets fragmented. Just make sure it does not get sucked into a pump or overflow.

what is the wattage of your light system? its 4-6 watts per gal and i think with your tank being a nano, your lights should be enough. but im no Expert. you might wanna ask about the xenia and your light set up under Nano Tanks. since their are ppl that have alot of experience with them.
but about the Rock and Xenia. its easiest to apply some super glue gel and Tada, u have the start of a nice colony!
Good Luck Hope this helps

If you place it on a shell or a piece of rock in a low flow area, it will attach itself in no time. Mine attached itself within 2 days onto a shell. Super Glue don't work well with Xenias. Another method is fishing string method, use a fishing string and thread it through the base of the Xenia and tie it to whatever you want it to attach to. This method didn't work for me though, it fell off within two days. But when I placed it on shell in low flow, that did the trick. Good Luck!!! :happyfish

Its sitting on a rock in a low flow area close to the light. I havent glued it or messed with it at all, and today when i got home from work its actually starting to perk up. I hope it attaches b4 the hermit knocks it over :)
