im cycling my tank and i have diatoms and bits of green algee on my glass??

Diatoms are normal. No problems there. Just stir up your substrate. Green algae? Already? How long are your lights on? Scrape it my friend. Diatoms are a good sign. How long has it been cycling?

lights on about 12 hours
cycling about 2 1/2 weeks

I would cut the lights down to 8-9 hrs. Is the tank getting any direct sunlight?

Are you using tap water? I would still cut back the lighting to 8 hrs.

i will cut back lighting and yes i did use tap wayer but when i start doing water changes i will add r/o
