I just bought 20 pounds of live rock. but my lighting is not good. will this kill my live rock?

No....live rock just means that it is full of beneficial bacteria.

Can you elaborate a little more? How do you mean the lighting is no good? In most cases, the biggest thing that could happen is your corraline dies off. We need more info on your setup thought.

Live rock, depending on the particular rock contains a variety of lif...with poor lighting you may suffer loss from light demanding inhabitants such as any corals or plantlife...other then that, the biological portion of the rock doesn't really care about lighting.
