:help: Can anyone ID this Hitchhiker? It came in on a piece of LR and I am not sure :notsure: if I should get rid of it or let it be. I am also confused about bristle worms, are they a nusiance? Are they good for my tank? I keep getting conflicting info. Please help. :happyfish

Hard to tell from the pic, but it looks like a sea squirt or tunicate. Is there an opening or two in it? It is fine if so. It could also be a sponge...and is fine as well. Bristleworms are a good part of clean up crew. They will eat detritus and leftover food.I have taken maybe 2 out that grew large over the years. If you have an over abundance of them, then there is too much available nutrients{overfeeding}.

Bristleworms are a very beneficial thing to have in your tank. It becomes a problem when there is an over-abundance of them. Then, as promise said, there are too many nutrients available.
