i jus noticed this on one of my clowns. The top of the fin seems to be disappearing and it seems like scales have been scrapped off above the eyes on both of my fish.
any reasons why this could be happening?
i feed once a day hikari flake and marine-s mostly and occasionaly frozen mysis shrimp

Lack of adequate nutrition will definitely cause what you are seeing and flakes by themselves are just not good enough. Start feeding your fish 2-3x a day, and offer a variety of foods, that can consist of quality dry foods, frozen, and even home made. Check out the receipt in the FAQ Thread. Add zoecon to one meal a day.

2-3 times a day isn't too much?
i read every other day, i was having an algae problem seemed to be from overfeeding, switched to once and problem eventually went away.

feed more often with less food, only put enough food that the fish can eat in a few seconds, like 10,
i use home made that has store bought fish food, + a lot of other things that i add like nori, scallops, shrimp, clams, and what ever the store has on sell that's a marine fish, squid, sometimes crab meat if I'm feeling generous
i feed 2 times a day, one time befor i go to work and another when i get home, the morning feeding is just flake food just something to put in their little bellys
