i have a hermit crab that has gotten as big as my fist ( 3-4 inches) and he wont let anything else live there. i have one lone clown in there and him can some one please tell me how long they live? or is there something i am not thinking of that i can put in there?

i have a crushed coral and sand base and about 20 lbs of live rock. in a 55 gal. i am on a budget and as i get fish i add rock.

what type of hermit you got ??
people will need more info on that and how deep your tank is also has he got a shell big anuff for him?
has killed anything? and when you say live there do you meen inside the tank or in a part of the the tank where he/she patrols?

Trade him in to the LFS for a smaller one.

I saw one at my LFS store that was over 12 inches. Not sure what type he was. Someone caught him in the ocean and brought him in to sell. My LFS bought him and gave him to me to return to the ocean.

i think he is a red legged but i got him from a friend cuz he ate all the other bottom dwellers in his tank.and i dont know if his shell is big enough but im sure he will be needing a new one soon.
he is all that is in the tank. it is a standard 55 gallon tank except for one lone clown fish.
