Help!

Hello,
My tank's temp. is going up and down. I got a new heater and i put the setting on it as 72 but it keeps on going up slowy. It was 86 two days ago!!! I changed water and put my old heater and the next day it was 70! i put the old and new heater in there ( seems like the old one isnt doing its job!) and it just keeps going up slowy. what should i do!%% Help me please.

My new heater is a marine-land 100w shatter proff. It just keeps going up and up. My tank is a 29g biocube

Maybe you should bring it back.....I use the stealth heaters in my SW tanks, BUT I do have the visa therm Shatterproof one in one of my FW tanks.....I have had no problems
HATE TO ASK.....are you sure you have it set right???

Good idea. But in the mean time what should i do about heating? My old heater does not work.

I have the same exact tank and heater. I keep my heater set at 82 which keeps my tank at a constant 80 deg F. If you are not getting the same results I say you have a bad heater. Can you exchange it? It's an awesome heater don't get me wrong just maybe you got a faulty one. Also us your tank close to a window or source of heat?

its pretty cold in my room lol. like 60 something. Whenever i had my new heater the temp. Went up an up and never stopped.

I figured everything out. The old heater is working and im going to take back the new one and swap it in or something.
