ok ive been seeing alot of light brown/orange stuff growing on my rock work, what is it?

Without a picture I could only guess.
Of it wipes off easily in sheets then I'm guess you have a cyanobacter outbreak. Nothing to be too concerned about if your tank is still cycling. Increasing the amount of waterflow might help a little.
If it's stuck firmly on the rocks and only comes off with a toothbrush then I'd guess it's Diatoms. Again, nothing to be concerned about. Diatoms are a normal resident in reef aquariums. Excess Diatoms can be unsightly but not harmful. Excess Diatoms are a normal result of using unfiltered tap water.
