First welcome to the board!!
Second - be cautious about adding macro algea's to your display tank. Here is a thread from a local board about the problems one aquarist is having with macro's in the display tank:
http://www.fishheads.org/viewtopic.php?t=1600
and a quote from the poster:
This #.*!*. caulerpa is about to over run my tank. Is there something I can do to slow the growth or even kill it out without hurting the corals and everything else? I pull wads of this stuff out practically every night.
Third - I'd slow way the heck down.
You have one fish - it is doing well. Your PH is a bit out of whack (nothing too bad). So I would prepare a water change (small one) with some RO or RO/di water.
Let the RO water bubble overnight (wiht a heater in there to get the water up to temp)
Add salt (about 1/2 cup per gallon)
Let the salt mix overnight (at least) and do a test of Salinity (SG) and PH to see what the current PH level of hte newly mixed salt is.
IN about 3 weeks do the same process. Then let the tank sit for one day and test PH.
If the PH is closer to 8.2 range then start thinking about adding one more fish.
in the meantime hang out and learn.
PS - decorate your tank how you want it - so if you like fake plants or a shipwreck or whatever in there go for it .... heck it is your tank. A wise man once said - your tank - your choice.
pps - if you do a search on other boards about macro's taking over you will find a lot of people who have macro's taking over their main tank. If you want plant life in your main tank I'd look @ Halimeda, Manatee Grass or turtle grass or something like that- not a macro algea.
Good luck and i hope that helps!
