Helping a Clownfish

My Tomatoe clown in my little 10g is extremely shy. He has been in the tank for a month or two since the tank had begun and has always hid underneath the lip of the HOB filter where the water spills back into the tank. I tried adding a ton of rock and that didnt help. I added snails, hermits, Macroalgae, and different lighting to try and get him to come out and that didnt help. I even added another fish, a satanic Damsel, which just proved to be a bad idea. What about adding another clown? I dont know the --- of the clown but once they meet, doesn't the more dominant become female? Any help would be awesome. I would love to see a pair.

IDK hun. My clown is really active with me and his tank. He is always playing in the power head stream and chases bubbles from the filter. He eats out of my hand too.

The Clown is about an inch long. When I feed him, he is a hog but soon as he is full, he shoots back to his filter. Its not hosting the filter if thats what anyone is wondering. I took the damsel out so now its just the clown by itself.

You do realize that your Tomato Clown is going to out grow that size tank, right?
Anyways, I think clowns do better in pairs, JMO. If you want to get a pair, I definitely think your clown is young enough and small enough that you should not have too many issues. My clowns are extremely active and always playing all over the tank together. They like to torment my Coral Beauty, which is fine with me, because he's MEAN! You can also try an anemone for it? Just a thought.

Yes I realize that they will outgrow the tank. I have a 40g and 55g so I am ok on space.
Anenome isnt an option. Tanks too young and dont have the proper lighting. I am going to get a new Clown today and see if it helps.
