Copperband butterflies are reef safe.....EXCEPT if you get one that is not....most of them eat pods and little worms. This is why so many people have trouble getting them to eat "normal" food. You can tell by the narrow mouth. Good for probing into the rockwork. I have a lot of fellow reefers that have copperbands in their tanks, but unfortunately went through a few to get one that would eat fish food. None of them have ever said that it ate LPS, or SPS coral. I think if you can get one to eat right away you won't have any problems. My .02 cents.
