I have my LR and LS ordered. It will be here tommorow. Its premium fiji Rock cured . If i am correct shouldnt i rinse the LS put it in tank then rinse LR put it in tank and add my SW thats at .025 and been mixing for 48hrs.
I didnt order any baserock. I was told that since my SB is only go be 1 inch i would be ok just setting rock on top of it. Im only going to have about 25lbs in a 28g nano. Is this correct? I guess i could set rock on bottom of tank but its acrylic and i dont wana scratch it and if i set rock on bare bottom it will.
Whats ya'lls thought on this? Of course i might be stuck b/c the LR and LS is showing up tommorow along with the guy thats going to help me set up the tank so i might have to go with what i got and cross my fingers big time

You are correct
You will need to monitor the ammonia, nitrites as the die off on the new rock will have to cure. If the ammonia hits .25 do a water change. Make sure you have very good flow and turnover - that will help the curing process also.

If you don't have any fish in their or inverts, I wouldn't worry about your ammonia all that much. Just watch the levels go up and then back down. You can do a water change if you want but it isn't absolutely nessasary.
You'll be fine with the Rock setting on top of the sand, your going to scratch your acrylic tank. It is going to happen. Take care of it as much as you can, but you won't be able to avoid it, and if you scratch the bottom it is covered with sand anyways. So relax.

I use a thing with a red plastic blade and a handle. But if you have enough of a cleaning crew you don't really have to mess with it that much.
