I have had my reef tank going for a month now.
I added a sump a couple days ago with an in sump skimmer and now we notice a fairly strong odor from the water in the room!!
Is this due to aeration of the water?
will it go away after awhile?

thats not normal I have a sump on my 75 and there is no smell. What does it smell like?

added 10 lbs yesterday,lfs said it was pretty much cured.

well then your pretty much finishing the curing..... it'll go away after ahwile do a water change heavy skimming .

Sounds like your rock was not finished curing totally. Did you test the ammonia of the water in your tank to see if it caused any kind of spike?

ammonia is about 0.2 on my nutrifin test kit.
usually it reads around 0.1
