Thank you. I think we have about 24lbs. We pull some out and put some in. Always changing it, my wife wants it just right. lol

The purple stuff is Purple Grape Calerperla (sp). It kind of works like macro algae would in a refuguim. I dont have any hair algae in the tank since I put that stuff in there.
For the power head, it is just the main return, I have not added one to the tank. I read a good idea though. I am going to use the one that came with that POS fission skimmer. So atleast I can get some use out of the skimmer.
I will get some better pictures tonight when there is no glare coming from the living room window.

I can't find purple grape calerperla anywhere on the internet. Does it go by another name, maybe? I love to have one.

I dunno the exact name... that is jsut what it was sold to me as. I did a search for Red grape algae and it looks almost identical.
