I've never heard of using that shallow of a sand bed before. I keep my tank bare bottom. This makes it very easy to siphon the uneaten food from the bottom of my tank. As a result I don't have to keep a cleanup crew. Cleanup crews dispose of a lot of uneaten protein in the tank, but they also create additional bioload. There are more reasons, but they are irrelevant to this discussion. If the method of disposing of uneaten food you will use is a cleanup crew then I would recommend a deeper sand bed. It's all personal preference, but if you plan on keeping certain fish (most wrasse, jawfish, some gobies, etc) then you would need a deeper sand bed than you have now. I'm not sure of the depth, as I obviously avoid these fish. But if I remember right, most wrasse like a 2" deep sand bed. Not flaming you, just pointing out something I thought you might prefer to know before you add your live rock. Tank looks great so far!
