I just got a few hermit craps to start the clean up work in my new tank. I live near the beach so there are plenty of tourist traps sells shells of various size and shape, would these shells be OK for my aquarium or do they treat the shell w/something?? Or better yet, how do I take shells from the beach and sterilize them for marine aquarium use?? I was thinking of boiling the crap out of them for about 10 minutes...Any thoughts??

I would say that they are fine to use. Just make sure there is no enamel on them (tourists like shiny shells, hehe).
